The Castle Garth Newcastle upon Tyne
The clear winter light illuminates this historic street in Newcastle upon Tyne which features the ‘New’ Castle which gave Newcastle its name. This imposing medieval fortress near the River Tyne was built partly as a defence against the threat of Scottish raids along with old city walls. The Cathedral’s lantern tower pictures in the background.
